The Southbound Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Club is dedicated to:
- Sponsoring and promoting recreational and social activities to benefit Swissys and their owners
- Providing education and support to owners and admirers of Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs
- Encouraging sportsmanlike competition at conformation shows and performance events
- Protecting and advancing the interest of the breed
- Aiding Greater Swiss Mountain Dog rescue efforts
